Special Music Programming

Outreach Concerts. Our music groups perform throughout the year at various Sr. Citizen facilities and churches.

Annual Ukulele Camp, started in August 2015, offers Ukulele group lessons to the brand new to the more experienced player.  Complete with dinner and day care, this program also boasts a very cool t-shirt, plus Bible study and “Introduction to the Hand Bell” for the non-ukulele folks.

“Winter Park Pres. Presents…” is our 3-concert series that began in the Spring of 2016 with the goal of reflecting WPPC’s Music program.  The 2016 season included performances by Stray Local, Brothers Egg, the Girls’ Choir of Wilmington, and Presbyterian College’s Handbell Choir.  2017 performances included the Wilmington Celebration Choir, the Wilmington Boys Choir, and a Ukuleles Unite! Concert featuring 4 string and ukulele bands.

A little about our 3-manual Rogers Organ

The Winter Park Presbyterian Church sanctuary features a 3-manual Rogers organ.  The Rodgers organ company was founded in 1958 by Rodgers Jenkins and Fred Tinker who worked at Tektronic, Inc.  Established after WW II, Textronic made oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and video and mobile test protocol equipment. These two visionaries wanted to create 1) an electronic organ that sounded like a pipe organ and 2) an instrument that would be financially accessible.  Now based in Hillsboro, OR, their digital instruments can be found all over the world, including Carnegie Hall!
